Collections Management for Dynamics GP

Collections Management for Microsoft Dynamics® GP transitions back to the original Independent Software Vendor (ISV)

After a successful 12 year licensing relationship, Microsoft is transferring the ongoing sales, maintenance and support of the Collections Management back to Professional Advantage, the authors of the software.
Effective June 1, 2013, Collections Management for Microsoft Dynamics GP will no longer be offered by Microsoft and all associated SKUs will be removed from all versions of the Microsoft Dynamics GP Price List.  Please note that Collections Management will continue to be offered under the Microsoft Services Provider License Agreement (SPLA) until further notice.  Beginning June 1, 2013, new licenses to Collections Management will only be available for purchase via channel partners registered with Professional Advantage.
Microsoft Dynamics GP channel partners are requested to register with Professional Advantage to ensure their existing customers are able to obtain new releases, enhancements and support for Collections Management.   Microsoft will continue to meet its obligations for Collections Management that it released through the support lifecycle for the applicable version of Microsoft Dynamics GP.
These changes affect Microsoft Dynamics GP customers on Module Based licensing (MBL) and Perpetual Licensing who previously obtained licenses to Collections Management via the Microsoft Dynamics GP price list, and all Microsoft Dynamics GP Advanced Management customers on Business Ready Licensing (BRL).  All of these customers with licenses to Collections Management will continue to receive new releases, enhancements and support by signing up for a maintenance plan with Professional Advantage through their channel partner.
As of this announcement, Professional Advantage will make a new release of Collections Management available June 1, 2013, that is enhanced with new features and functionality including: significant timesaving improvements, utilizing collection plans to automate collection steps; integration with non-Microsoft Dynamics GP invoicing systems; Quick Start setup wizards; and improved reporting. See Professional Advantage’s  roadmap for more details.

Dynamics GP: Adding more comments on SOP Documents

Comments for Sales Order Processing (SOP) transactions are entered using a text field which allows for a maximum of 500 characters.  When the comments are saved, the text field is broken down into 4 string fields of 50 characters each.  The code that parses the text field into the 4 string fields is smart enough to avoid breaking words in half.  It will fit as many words as it can up to the last space before the 50 character mark or up to a carriage return (new line).  When the SOP documents are printed, it is these 4 comment string fields which are printed on the report.  This means that if you use carriage returns or type a comment longer than 180-200 characters, you are unlikely to see all of your comment text shown on the report.

The below blog shows step by step how you can add up to 8 lines on your SOP Documents...
